As Valentine’s Day quickly approaches, we are looking for gifts for our loved ones.
Something to show them how much we care.
Last year, I wrote a post that gave some gift ideas for traditional valentine gifts including candles, perfume, chocolate, and cards.
This year, I thought I would feature some more unique gifts.
Here is a list of 5 additional ideas to inspire you:
- A Love Letter – Let’s start with something many would love. A beautifully written note expressing all the reasons they are loved. You could put this letter on recycled paper stationery with all the character of the fibers shining through.
- A Vase of Flowers – Shop secondhand for a beautiful well-made vase. Fill it with flowers and it can become a centerpiece for a table that is enjoyed all year long.
- Reed Diffusers – Create your own. Purchase a few unique vases secondhand, buy a pack of reeds (here’s a pack that looks like roses), and create a personalized scent. The liquid is a mix of ¼ cup sweet almond oil, 1 Tablespoon Vodka, and 20-25 drops of the essential oil(s) of your choice. Go with a single scent or mix several together.
- Aromatherapy – Building on #3 you could go with a pairing that fosters aromatherapy as a hobby. Combine a variety of essential oils with a book that has recipes like “The Beginners Guide to Essential Oils” by Christina Anthis or “At Home with Fragrance: Creating Modern Scents for Your Space” by Kristen Pumphrey and Thomas Neuberger
- At Home Spa Day – Create a special at home spa by purchasing or making your own bath and beauty products. Some brands to consider include QET Botanicals, Province Apothecary, and Just the Goods. If you want to make your own, these two books are full of recipes – Homemade Bath Bombs, Salts, and Scrubs (300 recipes) and Face Mask Recipes (60 recipes).
The most important thing for all of us to remember is that the amount we spend isn’t what matters. It’s the experience of celebrating love for one another. We should all look to create experiences and express love in a way that is unique and personal.
Happy Valentines Day!
